Hello Marie-Soleil, I suggest you call at 5 p.m. but I believe that you have a good chance that yes
I ate twice at this restaurant. The first time, in 2014, the food was incredible. The second time, in 2016, I was incredibly disappointed. The food tasted bland, the presentation was bad, the naan bread was cold and stale. After inquiring, I was told the chef was on vacation and kitchen staff were "scrambling" to prepare the food the way he does. Bottom line, ask if the chef's working before spending $30 on a disappointing experience.
Long story short, it is horrible!! Don’t go there.. you will be wasting your money and time
Food here is definitely NOT Afghan cuisine as they claim it to be. Waiter was extremely rude and complained about my tip amount right to me. Also told my friend to leave when he attempted to get candy from the front. Never going here again and would not recommend anyone looking for afghan cuisine to go because they won't find it there.
Very tasty food along with beautiful ambiance. Humble staff and best biryani place in town!
The meat was not cooked well. Hard to chew
Really wasn't a nice diner. First the waiters were slow and really seemed like we annoyed them, they weren't very nice. And the food was good, altough I paid 15$ for 5 small chicken peace with no rice, no vegetable no bread, that we had to pay extra if we wanted them. Really not worth it.
Good food
Very authentic place.
This is one of the best restaurants I ever have been. Its not fancy high end but they offer well done tasty food.
I've been four times. Food was always excellent. My fave Indian/Asians restaurant in Quebec City. My fave meal is Sag Paneer (spinach and cheese). Service is okay, that's why you don't have to tip like crazy, which is always a bonus. Definitely recommend. I only go weekdays because according to reviews weekends are packed and service is slow. Portions are reasonable as is the price.
Date : Nov. 2, 2019Place looks great from the inside. If you would like to pay to sit in a nicely decorated restaurant- by all means go for it. But the food was not edible. I ordered two meals for the wife and I to share and here are our thoughts:1- butter chicken: it was a skewer of chicken simply placed in a bowl of warm condensed milk... not making this up, it was chicken dipped in WARM MILK!!!!! 2- Lamb Beryani: it was tomato rice with lamb, it was not Beryani, and didnt taste like Beryani. Over all- we were really disappointed, barely made a dent in the plates and ended up leaving it and going to another restaurant. To the chef / cook : please re-assess your plates, or get real feedback from people that care for the restaurant objectively.
The food in this place sucks everything they serve is raw it is a disgrace to Afghanistan's food, it is very pricey too. Please don't waste your time and money for this restaurant's food.
Not recommended. Bad taste and very unprofessional servers. Have to understand that this industry runs on taste and very good behavior by your staff. Would have left a ZERO star but don't have any such option.
Got the 3 persons menu and we are all hungry after the meal! It's the same menu for 2 but 30$ more expensive!
Go for the lamb....
Amazing food, you gotta have the Ariana shared menu with butter chicken. We were 10 and all enjoyed. Cosy cultural decor, I’ll most certainly go there again when visiting Québec City.
Worst afghani cuisine i have ever tried in my life. Doesn't even come close to Afghan Cuisine. Rip off in terms of pricing and portions. Waiter was very rude and disrespectful. "Who puts broccolli in Afghan dishes. Kabuli pulao had watery curry underneath the little rice they served as Pulao."Would not recommend to people who are looking to eat some authentic afghani food!!!
Good vegan options!
Nice food. Prices are ok.
I went there a few weeks ago, had the spiciest dish. It was very good, it actually exceeded my expectations. I never had Afghan food before so I can’t say if it was traditional or not, but by reading the comments I’m guessing it wasn’t... The service is really meh. Very long waiting time even if the restaurant wasn’t half full. The waiter couldn’t care less. I would go again, I really liked my dish, but I hope that if they read their reviews they will eventually take care of the service issue (as mentionned in most comments)
I was told they had the best butter chicken in the world but it was easily the worst.
The food, in my opinion, is some of the absolute best you can get in that price range.
The restaurant was in a nice location and got very busy very quickly right at 5pm. The food quality was good but the price was too expensive for what it was. The service also wasn't great. Not a terrible experience but not a spot we need to visit again.
The lamb vindaloo was very good, but overpriced. Moreover, the service was horrid. I wouldn't go back.
Disappointment .. had great expectations as there is not a whole lot of choice in QC city for middle eastern food.. lack taste and quantity was poor.. decor was interesting but service was expedited.. I do not recommend
ONE OF THE SHITTIEST RESTURANT EVER. I REPEAT PLEASE DON'T. THEY DON'T HAVE FOOD WHEN ASKED ABOUT NAAN. THE SERVES WAS SUPER RUDE AND BROKE THE GLASS RIGHT IN FRONT OF US.ASKED FOR SALT, GOT IT WHEN WE FINISHED THE FOOD.WHEN I COMPLAINED HE STARTED TALKING IN FRENCH.WORST EVER. PLEASE DONT GO HERE. I WISH I CAN GIVE NEGATIVE STARS.
Great please to eat Afghani food! Everything is fresh!
excellent place! great service! great food! great ambiance! This place made me so happy.
Okay, but not more
Not authentic what so ever, food is bland, and extremely overpriced for the quantity.
So good
I really like this restaurant, I go there often. The quality of the food is great and portion of the meal is really big for the price. You can also bring your own wine. The decoration is typical Afghan decoration; they kept it traditional. I think if they remove the disturbing blue light in the washroom, that would be nice.Great place to have a nice meal :)
Literally the best Indian food in Quebec City! The vindaloo dishes are crazy good, along with the korma and butter chicken. We never pass through Quebec without stopping here :)
Such a great place!
Although the food we had was pretty good, there very little for the money we paid. But - and this is where this restaurant becomes interesting - the service was atrocious. It took one hour and a half to get our food, we ate without utensils, had to go downstairs to get our drinks, FOUND A GODDAMN PLASTIC ARROW IN THE CHICKEN, we almost got kicked out at the end (not because of bad behaviour, but because «Well, it's getting late (10pm) we want to go home», the waiter left dirty dishes on our table while we were eating, brought the bread with his hands and gave it to us. When we finally got the utensils (at the end of the diner), the waiter just threw a bunch of them on the table and said «Serve yourself». That was by far the worse restaurant experience I had, (though we had much fun laughing on how ridicoulus the situation was). Anyway, I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Food was ok (overpriced for what it was in quality and quantity) service was pretty bad and employees unexperienced. Will not go back again and wouldn't recommend.
Best butter chicken in the world. Take it from a local. Don't forget to order nan bread with it.
A nice find. Subtle flavors all around besides maybe the baklava that missed a little something . Fair prices and a good menu selection. Will definitely be back to sample other dishes on the menu. Big plus as this is a BYOB and there is a liquor store and a grocery store nearby. Not too far away from the touristic area and you could enjoy the night sights and special lighting on Cartier street before or after your meal.
Overpriced for what we got. Weird salad with apples.. rice not cooked in the real afghani method.. dont be fooled by the 5 stars ratings.. i have visited alot of afghani restaurent and this is the worst.. from the food and the quality of the food to the price to the service, very bad experience.. if i could i would rate it 0 out of 5
Good food but terrible service. Should be a nice place but the abysmal service ruins the experience
This is nothing like afghan food ! I have Afghan food all the time and this place is nothing like afghan food. Also to add the service is horrible. The waiters are extremely rude and have no customer service.
Good food and good service Nan is good with butter chicken Tashakur
Good food and inexpensive. Bring your own wine.
Super
it took soo long to get our food. then the waiter says that we should take the table d'hote because its easier for him to remember who took what since he can just put dishes on the table. the food was ok but not extraordinary. seriously lacked in presentation. the service was mediocre at best. we were uostairs in private rooms for groups. decor was bad and tables put together weren't level. we didnt have beer glasses and a wine glass I had was chipped.I would definately not recommend. especially in that area of the city were there are many excellent restaurants.
We enjoyed our visit to Delices D'Ariana. My wife had an Indian dish (of which there were many to choose from) that she enjoyed. And I had a traditional Afghan dish that was great, too.The atmosphere is nothing special, but clean and adequate. The indoor seating is on the second floor, so you can't real get a feel for the place from the sidewalk. They do not serve alcohol, but were quick to accommodate us (and all the other diners) with our bottle of wine; promptly opening it and supplying wine glasses shortly after we were seated. They were quite busy on a rainy weekday evening that left most other restaurants we passed almost empty, so we perceived this as a local favorite.
Being honest, horrible place, very over priced for what we gotNot recomended
Tasty food
Good Afghani food with mild spices. Overall very nice. Enjoyed the taste and spices . Service was good. I liked it . Not hard core Afghani food like lamb boti with charbi (FAT) but was impressed .
Traditionnal feel, genuine and tasty food and very good service: Les Délices d'Ariana is a great bring your own wine restaurant that we definitely recommmand!
